Oman - Global Clean Energy Supply Chains

Assadakah News - One of the world's leading producers of lithium-ion battery materials has launched a $1 billion (RO 385 million) investment to establish a large-scale anode materials manufacturing facility in Sohar, marking a significant step in the expansion of global supply chains supporting electric mobility and clean energy technologies.

Developed by Zhongqi Electric through its subsidiary Zhongke Xingcheng, the project is among the company's largest international investments and is designed to meet growing worldwide demand for battery materials driven by the rapid growth of electric vehicles, energy storage systems, and advanced technology industries.

With a planned production capacity of up to 200,000 tonnes annually, the facility will be developed in three phases and is expected to serve international markets across Asia, Europe, and beyond.

The investment reflects increasing confidence among global manufacturers in Oman's ability to host advanced industrial projects, supported by its strategic location, modern logistics network, industrial infrastructure, and investor-friendly business environment.

The project also reinforces the country's ambition to move beyond traditional industries and establish itself as a competitive platform for high-value manufacturing, clean energy technologies, and future-focused industrial investment.
